What have you got to offer Assisi?

There are so many ways to help Assisi Animal Sanctuary

Are you thinking about volunteering?

There are so many ways you can help us!

Without our dedicated volunteers we could not exist and continue with the work we do. There is so much to do! Could you commit to helping us out a few hours a week? Volunteering with us is very rewarding, you are helping us make a difference to so many animals’ lives. We have a number of different volunteer roles – there is something to suit everyone!

At the Sanctuary

If you don’t mind the dirty jobs you can volunteer at the Sanctuary and help clean the kennels out in the morning, you could walk dogs in the afternoon or spend time cuddling cats or feeding the rabbits and guinea pigs.

If you would prefer something more ‘indoors’ you could volunteer in Reception, meet and greet visitors, help out with admin duties and answering the telephone.

In our Shops

Our 4 shops in Ballynahinch, Bangor, Holywood and Newtownards need volunteers to work shifts, helping serve customers, sort stock and make deliveries.

Fundraising

Fundraising is vital to the survival of the charity. The money goes straight to the animals, paying for their food, vet bills and care.
Regular events, street collections, bag packs and sponsored walks are held to raise much needed funds for the Sanctuary.
There are so many ways you can help us raise the much needed funds and allow us to continue to care for and rescue many more animals. You could volunteer to help out at one of our events, help to organise and run an event or simply just be there on the day as an extra pair of hands.
You could also take part in one of our events and raise sponsorship money or even organise your own event to raise funds for the Sanctuary.

Fostering

Why not consider fostering an elderly animal or one that is recovering from surgery or has a life-limiting illness. You will be giving them a second chance, a warm bed and unconditional love.  Occasionally we have older animals that are often overlooked for the younger, more playful ones. Why not open your heart to a ‘golden oldie’ and make their retirement a happy one. They may require daily medication and regular trips to the vet, but you will be able to give them the love and quality of life they deserve.

Support Groups

Are you an active member of your community and keen to organise social fundraising events?  Support groups do a phenomenal job of marketing Assisi in their local area, tapping into their own networks to raise much need funds.  If you would like to start a new support group or get involved in an existing group email Anna at [email protected]

Corporates

Are you a company looking to support a charity – please consider nominating Assisi as your chosen charity of the year! We will provide all the support and materials you need to assist your organisation in all fundraising activity you chose to do. Or alternatively volunteer your staff time to help out at the Sanctuary.
