Assisi Animal Sanctuary is Northern Ireland's largest independent animal welfare charity providing shelter for up to 200 companion animals - cats, dogs and rabbits.
Charity Reference No: NIC104594.
Patrick has been with us since 2010, he arrived at just 6 months old after he had been found straying. He spent 6 years at the sanctuary with his wife Kiera. Sadly Kiera’s health failed and she passed away in 2016. Patrick is a lovely rabbit who has so much character. He is a real favorite among our staff and volunteers. He does need regular dental check-ups as his spurs can grow quite quickly making it extremely painful for him to eat.
Patrick is now settled in with a new lady called Roxy. They bonded very quickly and are very loved up! Roxy is 4 years old and has been with us for a while now. Prior to arriving here Roxy lived with chickens, but sadly never had a bunny friend. She is a very shy rabbit but is easy to handle and work with once you have her trust. Patrick has already brought her out of her shell and she has started to come over for cuddles and treats.
The two were re-homed for a short time from May 2017 – September 2017, but were unfortunately re-turned, due to no fault of their own at all. Since being re-homed Roxy really came our of her shell, loving to lay on her owners shoulder for a snooze and take over the sofa!!
These buns need a reasonably experienced bun owner and an indoor home only. Patrick’s health deteriorated a little, however he is now in a stable condition, happy and enjoying life.
If you feel you could offer these two a warm loving home, please call up to the sanctuary and fill out an application form!
