Assisi Animal Sanctuary is Northern Ireland's largest independent animal welfare charity providing shelter for up to 200 companion animals - cats, dogs and rabbits.

Set just off the dual carriageway between Newtownards and Bangor in a small village called Conlig Assisi Animal Sanctuary is home to dogs, cats, rabbits and guinea pigs all looking for new, loving homes. You can find us at:

We are open 6 days a week excluding Christmas Day, New Years Day and the 12th July.
Visitors are welcome to walk round the site between 11am and 3pm, Tuesday – Sunday, but only those wishing to adopt will have access to the animal housing areas when accompanied by a member of staff.
Those wishing to adopt will first be directed to our rehoming suite where you will complete your application form and receive undivided attention from a member of staff.
Our rehoming / viewing hours are 11am – 3pm, Tuesday – Sunday.
Reception is open 11am – 4pm, Tuesday – Sunday.
Opening Hours: Tuesday – Sunday 11am – 4pm (3pm – 4pm reception only open)
Rehoming hours: Tuesday – Sunday 11am – 3pm
Dog Walking times: Tuesday- Sunday 11am – 3pm (Monday by arrangement)
Please note that weekends are more popular for dog walkers so availability may be restricted especially for child friendly dogs.
There is plenty of free parking along the lane. Please avoid blocking our gateways and also those of the house next door to the Sanctuary.
From Belfast or further afield you can get to Bangor Bus Centre by train. From Bangor Bus Centre, or Newtownards take the No.6 bus and ask to get off near the sanctuary in Conlig.
