Our beautiful Miranda is still here! Miranda is roughly 10 years old and we're seeking a very special home for her. She's been with us since 2014 and is loved by all. Miranda didn't have the best start in life. When she first came to us, she was terrified. She wouldn't turn her back and would hiss a lot, as was her way of asking us to respect her boundaries. Over the years Miranda has progressed - We at Assisi are so proud of how far she has come! However she does still tolerate handling on her own terms. She likes to be stroked in particular ways and will sometimes give a little nibble if this standard is not met! This isn't painful and simply her way of saying stop but is of course something potential adopters need to be aware of. Perhaps the main thing which may concern people about offering Miranda a loving home is that she will often choose not to use her litter tray. When this happens, Miranda will always choose the same spot. We have tried various things at the sanctuary. Perhaps something which may correct this is a complete change of scenery like a new place to call home. It could also be that should Miranda have garden access (after a long settling in period indoors), she may prefer to toilet there. This would be ideal however we would need adopters to be aware that this may be an ongoing issue and would ask that they'd be willing to work with her on it. Miranda is also currently on some steroids for hair loss along her side. She takes these extremely well in treats so giving them to her should be no problem. This could be due to stress and may settle at home but it could also be that this is a long term treatment and her new owner would just need to be comfortable with this. Miranda is very loving and really enjoys affection though it has taken us a long time to get to this stage. When Miranda finds her forever home, we expect it would take some time for her to settle. It would be ideal if those applying are happy to own a cat who doesn't take frequent petting/grooming but would work with her in order to build that trust. We're asking for a home with no other pets or young children as we believe this would be the best environment for our lovely girl. Miranda whilst an absolutely stunning and affectionate girl does need a particular home and we just haven't found that for her yet. We really do love and care for her so much and it would mean the absolute world to us to finally find her that perfect home. Being able to update everyone and write her success story would be extremely fulfilling! If you believe you could give Miranda her forever home, please fill out an application form. We would love to hear from you!
