About Pet

Meet our wonderful little Pixie, a 1 year old Jack Russell Cross who is the sweetest soul you could ever meet! Pixie was an unexpected arrival at Assisi and upon hearing what she had been through in such a short period of time, we couldn't believe it. We got a phone call that this little one was in need of help as she had suffered a bad leg injury in a home where she was not fully cared for. Pixie was brought to us and it was clear her leg was in need of medical attention as she couldn't stand properly at all. She was taken to our vet to have the leg X-rayed and examined to see what we were really dealing with. Pixie had had a fully broken tibia and fibula, which was repaired prior to admission and required 24hr aftercare, TLC and supervision. She unfortunately displaced some of the pins so was sent out on Foster with an incredible family who have helped her get back to full health! Pixie has recovered, but her journey of resting isn’t over just yet. She requires someone who understands all her needs in training and understands that Pixie will not be allowed to run mad around a house or in a park as this could result in her breaking the leg again if her exercise isn't controlled. Pixie will need rest periods to help lower the chances of any more injuries in her leg. Pixie is looking for a quiet home with no other pets as she still needs a lot of training and socialision with people and other dogs. Pixie can be rehomed with older children. She will require lead training as she hadn’t had the chance to be on a lead until she was fostered. Pixie does pull and bark on the lead as she hasn't learnt how to approach dogs or people the correct way due to missing out on these stages in her early life at her previous home. She is a loving girl with a brilliant little personality and funny side to her. She will make someone a fantastic companion who has the time and patience for her and her training needs.
